What tools are used for CNC lathe processing?

CNC Lathe processing includes diamond tools, tool arc detection device, cutting fluid, chip collection device, etc. The influence factors of diamond tool on machining error include the arc shape, arc radius and blade ripple (waviness) of the tool. Generally speaking, the diamond tool is trimmed into an arc shape, and its arc radius and center are detected by the tool detection device, and the detection results are input into the controller to compensate for the tool arc radius for turning processing. If the arc of the tool is not a positive circle or there is an error between the radius of the arc and the center of the detected arc, it will cause the shape error of the workpiece. The blade waviness affects the surface roughness of the workpiece. The arc center of the tool, when moving to the set cutting center point, needs to be consistent with the rotation axis position and height of the workpiece spindle; If it is inconsistent, in addition to the machining shape error, it will also leave a convex point (commonly known as belly button) in the center of the workpiece.


When machining a CNC lathe, cutting fluid is often supplied to reduce the temperature of the cutting point and take away the chips. Most of the diamond turning with oil mist supply cutting fluid (with high pressure air jet cutting oil). Therefore, the angle of the nozzle and the flow and speed of oil and gas will affect the cooling and chip removal effect. The most common situation is that the chips accumulate on the diamond blade and rub against the surface of the material being cut, which in turn has a great impact on the surface roughness of the workpiece. In order to avoid the occurrence of chip accumulation or even chip rolling during the cutting process, a chip collection device can be added. The principle of the chip collection device is to use high-pressure air to blow into the chip collection tube to create a vacuum state. The use of the chip collection device will disturb the air near the cutting point, and the chip collection tube will also vibrate due to the gas flow, which will cause the machine to vibrate and affect the surface roughness of the workpiece. Therefore, when using the chip collection device, in addition to paying attention to the chip collection effect, it is also necessary to be careful of the influence caused by air disturbance and vibration.
